Ate Marie and Kuya Joel (The Joys of Motherhood and Parenting)

"My angel is coming" --- These are the enchanting words of happiness posted on Ate Marie's facebook status.

Every woman's greatest endeavor in life is to be a MOTHER. Even from childhood, i have always asked myself, when will i experience being a mother. I am very lucky to have a great upbringing from the family i came from. And as a child, i have always dreamed of doing the same thing my parents have done to me and to us their children. Being the eldest of three, it was a wonderful experience to have taken the responsibility of my mom during the time she has left us to work abroad. Of course with the help of my father who stood as our guardian during those days. I know it was difficult for him. But because we are blessed to have such wonderful and responsible parents, all was well for him. It was more difficult for my mom to have sacrificed a lot being far from her family. Yes, sacrifice. That is what motherhood is.

Being a mother is a great responsibility. From conception, to birth, to sending to school, to raising and giving the best needs and wants, all accompanied with strong determination to make the children the best as they could be in all aspects of life. But this responsibilty always affiliates the JOYS OF MOTHERHOOD. Like every other mothers, the existence of their children on earth is the greatest gift they could ever have in their lives.

This is what my cousin Ate Marie is feeling at this very moment. Happiness, bliss, contentment, excitement. The joy of knowing that her child is breathing in her womb, that her child is moving inside her. With her words of telling the whole world that "my angel is coming", i can really feel her promising happiness. Being a cousin to her and at the same time a cousin to his husband, i've been a witness to their love story. It has been almost ten years of being together in a relationship until last 14th of August 2010, they decided to settle down and tie the knot that binds them. It was a long road for both of them. Tons of patience of waiting for each other. I know their history and for the nth time, i will say these words once and for all, their LOVE for each other has won their battle. And from that day of their marriage onwards, they live their lives together happily. So long that they have waited. And now, it has arrived. The blessing they have waited for so long has been granted. God has been so good to them to have been blessed with a wonderful gift. A gift of having a child. A gift of being a mother and a father to the precious life inside her womb. Yes, it was all worth it. The wait, the prayers, the wishes. Because every single breath this mother breathes, gives her little child a life and a chance to see the world we are living in.

What a wonderful thing to have felt this amazing experience, the joy of expecting a little angel to come out, see how beautiful the world is and to know how wonderful and grateful God is. :)
To Ate Marie and Kuya Joel, a bunch of congratulations and best wishes to the new family. Take care of this little angel. Best regards and lots of love.

xoxo,
Peter and Aileen
